Clinical Consultant

SunVista Diagnostics is a growing high-complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory specializing in PCR and precision diagnostic testing. We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Clinical Consultant to join our laboratory team.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and rapidly expanding laboratory environment focused on clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, diagnostic accuracy, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert consultation regarding the appropriateness of laboratory tests ordered and the interpretation of clinical test results
• Guide clients and providers on the clinical utility and application of molecular diagnostic testing
• Review test reports to ensure clinically relevant and accurate information is included for patient care decision-making
• Evaluate patient test results for inconsistencies with relevant clinical information and laboratory findings
• Assist in identifying quality issues and recommending corrective actions to maintain high testing standards
• Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure testing methodologies align with clinical requirements and best practices
• Provide consultation and support related to laboratory testing systems and performance issues
• Maintain effective communication with laboratory clients regarding test results, clinical relevance, and follow-up recommendations
• Participate in ongoing education and training initiatives to support laboratory compliance and clinical excellence
• Ensure compliance with CLIA regulations, laboratory policies, HIPAA requirements, and quality assurance standards

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable CLIA requirements for Clinical Consultant in a high-complexity laboratory setting
• Current unrestricted U.S. state or territory medical license required, when applicable HHS-approved board certification or equivalent educational and experiential qualifications as defined by the Laboratory Director
• Strong understanding of molecular diagnostics, laboratory medicine, and clinical test interpretation
• Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and regulatory compliance standards
• Excellent communication and clinical consultation skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in molecular diagnostics, PCR, or infectious disease testing
• Familiarity with high-complexity laboratory operations and workflow
• Experience collaborating with laboratory directors, supervisors, and testing personnel
• Prior experience providing clinical consultation services in a diagnostic laboratory setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods
• Frequent sitting, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate laboratory equipment, computer systems, and office equipment
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced laboratory environment
