Technical Supervisor

SunVista Diagnostics is a growing high-complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory specializing in PCR and precision diagnostic testing. We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Technical Supervisor to join our laboratory leadership team.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and rapidly expanding laboratory environment focused on quality, compliance, operational excellence, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of high-complexity clinical laboratory testing and ensure compliance with CLIA and laboratory standards
• Select and verify appropriate testing methodologies to ensure accurate and reliable patient results
• Establish and maintain laboratory test performance specifications for precision, accuracy, and reportable ranges
• Develop and oversee quality control and quality assurance programs throughout the testing process
• Resolve technical issues and implement corrective actions when test systems deviate from established performance standards
• Supervise laboratory personnel training, competency evaluations, and ongoing education programs
• Conduct competency assessments through direct observation, proficiency testing, and performance evaluations
• Ensure patient test results are reported accurately and only after all corrective actions are completed
• Monitor laboratory workflow related to STAT testing, critical values, and repeat testing requirements
• Oversee laboratory inventory management, supply rotation, and ordering processes
• Ensure participation in HHS-approved proficiency testing programs and oversee corrective actions when needed
• Foster a collaborative laboratory environment focused on teamwork, communication, and continuous quality improvement

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable CLIA requirements for Technical Supervisor in a high-complexity laboratory
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related laboratory science required
• Minimum of four years of laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing specialties
• Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel licensure required if applicable by state regulations
• Strong understanding of laboratory testing principles, quality assurance, and quality control procedures
• Ability to recognize and resolve critical or questionable test results Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in molecular diagnostics, PCR, or infectious disease testing
• Prior supervisory or laboratory leadership experience
• Familiarity with laboratory instrumentation, automation systems, and LIS platforms
• Experience preparing for regulatory inspections and proficiency testing programs

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods Frequent sitting, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate laboratory instrumentation and computer systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment under pressure
