General Supervisor

SunVista Diagnostics is a growing high-complexity molecular diagnostics laboratory specializing in PCR and precision diagnostic testing. We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented General Supervisor to join our laboratory leadership team.

This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative and rapidly expanding laboratory environment focused on quality, compliance, operational excellence, and patient care.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day supervision of personnel performing high-complexity testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and laboratory procedures
• Ensure testing personnel are properly trained, competent, and consistently perform testing with accuracy and precision
• Monitor specimen examination and test analysis to ensure acceptable analytical performance standards are maintained
• Supervise laboratory personnel in troubleshooting, technical support, and issue resolution
• Ensure all quality control procedures, maintenance activities, and corrective actions are properly documented and completed
• Review patient test results for accuracy and ensure timely result reporting
• Oversee laboratory inventory management, supply ordering, labeling, and storage procedures
• Ensure proper utilization of the Laboratory Information System (LIS) for documentation and reporting
• Assist the Laboratory Director with performance monitoring, quality improvement initiatives, and workflow optimization
• Participate in staff orientation, competency assessments, continuing education, and ongoing training programs
• Ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards, HIPAA regulations, and laboratory safety protocols
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment that encourages teamwork, communication, and professional development

Qualifications

• Must meet applicable CLIA requirements for General Supervisor of high-complexity testing
• Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Chemistry, Molecular Biology, or related laboratory science required
• Minimum laboratory training or experience in high-complexity testing required
• Active Florida Clinical Laboratory Personnel licensure required if applicable by state regulations
• Strong knowledge of laboratory quality assurance, quality control procedures, and test systems
• Experience supervising laboratory personnel preferred
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory environment
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in molecular diagnostics, PCR, or infectious disease testing
• Familiarity with laboratory information systems (LIS) and workflow management
• Experience with laboratory compliance, competency assessments, and regulatory inspections
• Leadership or supervisory experience in a high-complexity laboratory setting

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Frequent sitting, bending, and stooping
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity sufficient to operate laboratory instrumentation and computer systems
• Ability to work in a fast-paced laboratory environment
